Houston community activist Quanell X is calling for an FBI probe into the mysterious March murders of two young men, one a member of a local rap group, whose bodies were found bound and gagged in a car near the Gulf Freeway.

Deandre Goodson, 23, and his cousin Joey Bivens, 19, were last seen on the evening of March 17 when they told family members they were going to meet two men to buy rims. Their bodies, bound with duct tape, were found three days later in a car parked in the 12300 block of Interstate 45 South.

The two reportedly had several thousand dollars on them when they disappeared.

At a press conference today, Quanell X said Harris County medical examiners attributed the cousins’ death to “homicidal violence,” but there were no indications of trauma or wounds and toxicology tests found no trace of poisoning.

“I used to think CSI was on television, but now CSI has come to the hood,” Quanell said.

Quanell X called on the Houston Police Department to bring in the FBI to help solve the murders. He also appealed to anyone with information about the crime to contact police.

Goodson was a member of Street League, a local rap group, Quanell X said.
