Facing charges in two states for making threats against lawmakers, a New Jersey blogger FBI trained it seems, is relying on that fact to get him out of hot water. Hal Turner, a New Jersey blogger, was trained by the FBI on how to be intentionally confrontational, so says his lawyer.

Prosecutors of the case have admitted that Hal Turner was an FBI informant for 5 years, from 2002 to 2007. His job? Spy on radical right-wing organizations; his lawyers in the past had said that he was not an informant when he allegedly threatened a Connecticut legislator and posted on his blog that certain federal judges deserved to die. From Sweetness & Light:

Hal Turner worked for the FBI from 2002 to 2007 as an “agent provocateur” and was taught by the agency “what he could say that wouldn’t be crossing the line,” defense attorney Michael Orozco said.

“His job was basically to publish information which would cause other parties to act in a manner which would lead to their arrest,” Orozco said.

The New Jersey blogger/FBI trained informant wrote in June that federal appeals judges deserved to die; even giving out names, posting pictures, and giving room numbers to their chambers at the federal court house.

I suppose the question needs to be asked. Why was Hal Turner used as an informant for the FBI? What radical right-wing groups were the feds watching? Who exactly is this New Jersey blogger? Why would the FBI stoop to using such a hate monger? Too bad he got busted for threatening judges, Secretary Napalatono could really use someone like him.
