The firm, located near the Agency in McLean, Virginia, and home to many former CIA veterans, creates false identities and cover stories for an "elite" group of overseas case officers. Abraxas is also the developer ot TrapWire. From the company web site:

Abraxas Names Former CIA Official to Advisers Group

Abraxas Corp. said Monday it appointed a former CIA chief information officer to its board of advisers.

The McLean-based software company, which specializes in technology for national security, added Alan Wade for his expertise in technical security as the company prepares to roll out new products.

Wade joins other big name advisory board members including former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge; retired general and presidential adviser John Gordon, former federal judge Eugene Sullivan and former chief executive of Vienna-based GRC International Inc. Jim Roth.

Wade retired from the CIA in 2005 after 35 years with the agency. He had been CIO since 2001.

Abraxas, a private company, has been on the Washington Business Journal's fastest growing companies list since 2005, notching the 26th slot on the 2007 list with a 62.4 percent average annual growth between 2004 and 2006.

The company, founded in 2002, brought in $46.9 million in revenue in 2006, according to Washington Business Journal research.
