The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, has accused the United States of infiltrating the Ecuadorian intelligence services.
He has said some senior intelligence officials in Ecuador are in the pay of Washington.
His conclusions are based on a military operation carried out last month by Colombia on Ecuadorian territory, when Colombian soldiers entered an area where members of Colombia's FARC rebel group were camped.
The soldiers shot and killed a senior FARC leader.
Mr Correa is alleging Colombia was able to use information provided to it by America’s CIA, which had received leaked intelligence from Ecuador’s own operatives.
